The Central Area of downtown Fort Worth is a bustling center of financial, retail, and professional service businesses. Redevelopment of downtown Fort Worth in a modern style that is sensitive to preserving our heritage has become a model for cities nationwide. Some of Tarrant County’s major employers reside in the Central area, as well as government offices, transportation hubs and a host of new urban residential options. New construction such as the Bank One Building and the Convention Center expansion remain true to the architectural style of the city, and the glistening new RadioShack and Pier 1 Imports corporate headquarters on the banks of the Trinity River point toward a progressive future.

Both Pier 1 Imports and RadioShack have completed construction on their new corporate offices along the banks of the Trinity River. The decision of these two companies to build their new buildings in downtown Fort Worth is proving to encourage much growth and development in the area around the Trinity River.
